1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing and using the Quillzy Chrome Extension ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.
2. Description of Service
The Extension is a browser tool that helps you create and enhance LinkedIn content using artificial intelligence. It provides:
- Repost Mode: Generate commentary when sharing others' LinkedIn posts
- New Post Mode: Rephrase and enhance your draft content
- Comment Mode: Generate context-aware comments on LinkedIn posts
- DM Reply Mode: Generate conversation-aware replies in LinkedIn messaging
- Connection Note Mode: Generate personalized connection request notes when sending invitations
- AI Provider Integration: Browser AI (on-device), Google Gemini API, and OpenAI API
- Free Tier Mode: Optional integration with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini web interfaces
3. User Requirements
To use the Extension, you must:
- Have a valid Chrome browser installation
- Have a LinkedIn account (for posting content)
- For API mode: Provide your own API key from Google Gemini or OpenAI
- For Browser AI mode: Chrome 138+ with sufficient hardware (22 GB storage, 4 GB+ VRAM or 16 GB RAM)
- Be at least 13 years of age
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
4. API Keys and Costs
4.1 Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
For cloud AI modes, the Extension requires you to provide your own API key from:
- Google Gemini (Get API Key)
- OpenAI (Get API Key)
Browser AI mode does not require an API key.
4.2 Your Responsibility for API Costs
- You are solely responsible for all costs incurred through your API usage
- The Extension developer does NOT pay for, subsidize, or control API costs
- You should monitor your API usage through your provider's dashboard
- API pricing is subject to change by the respective providers
- Browser AI mode is free and incurs no API costs
4.3 API Key Security
- You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential
- Do not share your API keys with others
- Immediately regenerate keys if you suspect unauthorized access
- The Extension stores keys locally in Chrome's encrypted storage
5. User Responsibilities
5.1 Content Review
- You are solely responsible for all content posted on LinkedIn
- You must review and approve all AI-generated content before posting
- AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate material
- You bear full responsibility for compliance with LinkedIn's content policies
- This applies to all modes: posts, reposts, comments, DM replies, and connection notes
5.2 Compliance with Third-Party Terms
You agree to comply with the terms of service of:
- LinkedIn: LinkedIn User Agreement
- Google Chrome: Chrome Terms of Service (for Browser AI)
- Google Gemini: Gemini API Terms
- OpenAI: OpenAI Terms of Use
5.3 Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use the Extension to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Generate spam, misleading, or deceptive content
- Harass, abuse, or harm others
- Circumvent LinkedIn's rate limits or terms of service
- Distribute malware or malicious code
- Impersonate others in comments or DMs
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Extension License
Quillzy is proprietary software. All rights reserved.
6.2 AI-Generated Content
- Content generated by AI providers (Browser AI, Gemini, OpenAI) is subject to their respective terms
- You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to use AI-generated content
- The Extension developer makes no claims to ownership of your content
6.3 Trademarks
- "Quillzy" is a trademark of the Extension developer
- "LinkedIn" is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation
- "ChatGPT" and "OpenAI" are trademarks of OpenAI
- "Gemini" and "Google" are trademarks of Google LLC
- "Claude" is a trademark of Anthropic
- This Extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies
7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
7.1 "AS IS" Provision
The Extension is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
7.2 No Guarantee of Results
- We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate, appropriate, or effective
- We do not guarantee that the Extension will meet your requirements
- We do not guarantee compatibility with future LinkedIn or Chrome updates
- We do not guarantee availability of Browser AI or on-device model downloads
7.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Extension developer shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
- API costs incurred through use of the Extension
- Account suspension or termination by LinkedIn or AI providers
- Any damages arising from use or inability to use the Extension
7.4 Maximum Liability
In no event shall the Extension developer's total liability exceed $10 USD or the amount you paid for the Extension (whichever is greater). Since the Extension is free, this effectively limits liability to $10 USD.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Extension developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Extension
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of third-party rights (including LinkedIn's terms)
- Content you post on LinkedIn using the Extension (including posts, comments, DMs, and connection notes)
9. Privacy
Your use of the Extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand our privacy practices.
10. Changes to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue the Extension at any time
- Update these Terms with or without notice
- Add or remove features
- Change supported AI providers or models
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.
11. Termination
11.1 Your Rights
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from Chrome.
11.2 Our Rights
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Extension if you violate these Terms, though enforcement is limited given the Extension's local-only architecture.
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Extension ceases immediately
- Locally stored data (API keys, settings) remains until you manually delete it or uninstall the Extension
- Sections 6, 7, 8, and 12 survive termination
12. Governing Law and Disputes
12.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.2 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Extension shall be resolved through:
- Good faith negotiation
- Binding arbitration if negotiation fails
- Courts of competent jurisdiction in India as a last resort
12.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.
13. Miscellaneous
13.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Extension developer.
13.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
13.3 No Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
13.4 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
13.5 Third-Party Beneficiaries
There are no third-party beneficiaries to these Terms.
